Frequently Asked Questions.
-
No. We generally require a free site visit to provide an accurate fixed-price quote. Because every property varies in access, drainage, and cleaning requirements, a remote guess often leads to inaccuracies. Visiting allows us to assess the specific requirements so there are no hidden costs later.
-
Yes. We hold full Public Liability Insurance (up to £5m) which covers all works carried out on your property. We are happy to provide proof of insurance upon request.
-
We cover Bristol and the surrounding areas, including Bath, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset. If you are unsure if you fall within our catchment, please get in touch.
-
Not necessarily. As long as we have access to an exterior water tap and any locked gates are opened, we can carry out the work while you are out. We can send photos and a job report with our invoice.
-
Typically 1–2 weeks. Lead times vary depending on the season (spring and summer are busier), but we always aim to fit you in as soon as possible. Emergency cleaning (e.g., graffiti, oil spills) can often be prioritised.
General & Policies
Technical & Safety
-
Yes. We operate on a graduated cleaning hierarchy, always prioritising the mildest, eco-friendly options first. We stock high-performance biodegradable cleaning agents and only escalate to stronger professional-grade treatments if the level of soiling makes it absolutely necessary. We will always consult with you before applying any harsher chemicals.
-
Yes, when applied by our trained professionals. We adhere to strict safety protocols, including a comprehensive "pre-soak" and "post-rinse" of nearby vegetation to dilute any potential runoff. We advise keeping pets indoors while we are spraying and until surfaces are dry, at which point the area is perfectly safe.
-
We are flexible to your needs. We encourage recycling organic waste (like roof moss) in your green bin or compost where possible to keep costs down. However, for clients who prefer total removal, we are fully licensed waste carriers and can legally remove and dispose of the debris for an additional fee.
-
Usually, no. However, for certain specific situations, such as extra lighting requirements for off-hours commercial work, we may occasionally request access to standard plug sockets, but we will discuss this during the quote.
-
Most cleaning can proceed in light rain. Exterior cleaning is a wet process, so a little rain doesn't stop us. However, if we are applying sealants, chemical treatments that require dry dwell time, or working at dangerous heights in high winds, we may need to reschedule for safety and quality assurance.
Residential Cleaning
-
We tailor the method to the roof. We never use high pressure on delicate tiles. We have gentler methods at our disposal such as Steam Cleaning, Moss Scraping, or Soft Washing. This ensures a deep clean that removes moss and lichen without damaging the structural integrity or protective coating of your tiles.
-
Typically 3 to 5 years. This depends on local factors like overhanging trees, but our treatment lasts much longer than a simple rinse. We use a biocide that kills spores at the root, creating a "self-cleansing" effect where the weather continues to wash away organic matter for months after our visit.
-
Yes, but not always. Treating a stain early can often remove it completely so if you notice a fresh leak, contact us immediately. Unfortunately we can’t guarantee 100% removal on older stains, especially on porous surfaces, but the treatments will definitely improve them.
-
We highly recommend it. While not mandatory, applying a sealer protects the sand joints (preventing weed growth) and shields the stones from oil stains and UV fading. It extends the life of the clean and makes maintenance much easier.
-
This is natural salt deposits. Known as efflorescence, this powdery white substance can appear on brick or block paving as moisture brings natural salts to the surface. It is not permanent damage and can be treated or will weather away naturally over time.
-
Up to 40 feet (approx. 3–4 stories). We use high-reach poles and powerful vacuum systems to clear gutters safely from the ground. We also use wireless cameras to inspect the guttering and ensure it is fully cleared.
Commercial & Specialist Services
-
Yes. We use a specialist chemical system to safely remove graffiti from brick, stone, and sensitive plastics. Our process includes:
* Paint Removal: Lifting the tag gently without harsh abrasion.
* Ghosting Removal: Eliminating the faint "shadow" outline often left behind.
* Protection: We can also apply a sacrificial coating to make future removal easier.
-
Yes. We handle everything from single shop fronts to larger areas. We use a targeted chemical gel treatment for smaller areas to dissolve gum without damaging the paving. For larger commercial sites, we can deploy steam cleaning systems. We ensure the removal of both the gum and the oily residue spot.
-
Yes. For all commercial contracts, we provide full RAMS documentation, COSHH data sheets for any chemicals used, and proof of insurance before work commences.
-
Yes. We understand that cleaning can be disruptive to customers or staff. We are happy to schedule commercial cleaning work for evenings, weekends, or early mornings to minimize downtime.
