Terms of Service
Services Provided
Maple Leaf Exterior Cleaning ("the Company") provides professional exterior cleaning services including pressure washing, gutter cleaning, render cleaning (soft washing), roof moss removal, window washing, and driveway sealing for both residential and commercial clients.
Quotations and Estimates
All quotations are provided free of charge and will be delivered by email within 24 hours of visiting the site.
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Any additional work or variations from the original quotation will be discussed and agreed upon prior to commencement; any additional work will be captured in a new quotation.
Scheduling and Weather Conditions
While making every effort to adhere to the original timeline, the Company reserves the right to reschedule work due to adverse weather conditions, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Clients will be notified as soon as possible, and a mutually convenient alternative date will be arranged.
Access, Preparation, and Site Safety
According to the work being undertaken, the client agrees to provide reasonable access to water and electricity where required.
Site Clearance: Please ensure all windows and doors are securely closed and that fragile items, vehicles, or obstacles are moved away from the work area prior to the scheduled service. The Client must explicitly ensure the work area is clear of pet waste.
If, upon arrival or inspection, the Company believes that proceeding with the work may cause damage to the property or create an unsafe situation—for example, where windows remain open, vehicles have not been moved, or pet waste has not been cleared—the Company reserves the right to delay, suspend, or cancel the job until the site is made safe and suitable.
Payment Terms
Payment is due within seven (7) days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
For jobs exceeding £1,000, a 10% deposit is required to secure the booking, payable prior to the commencement of work.
Late Payments: The Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at the statutory rate of 8% plus the Bank of England base rate.
Cancellation Rights
Cooling-Off Period: Residential clients dealing with us at a distance (e.g., via email or phone) have a statutory right to cancel the contract within 14 days of booking without giving a reason.
Waiver for Urgent Work: If the Client requests work to commence within this 14-day cooling-off period, they acknowledge that they waive the right to a full refund once the service has been fully performed. If the service is partially performed before cancellation, the Client is liable for the cost of the work completed up to that point.
Cancellation requests must be made in writing (email is acceptable).
Liability, Damage, and Chemical Treatments
Pre-existing Damage: The Company takes all reasonable care during its work. Before starting, we will assess the work area and, where possible, identify and document any pre-existing damage or areas of concern.
Exclusions: The Company accepts no liability for damage resulting from pre-existing faults, structural defects, loose pointing, deteriorated surfaces, or issues beyond our control such as water ingress through faulty seals or cracks.
Cleaning Outcomes: While every effort is made to achieve the best possible result, the Company cannot guarantee complete removal of deep-set stains, lichens, organic growth, or historic weathering.
Chemical Treatments & Soft Washing:
Vegetation: While the Company employs industry-standard procedures to rinse and protect surrounding plant life, we cannot be held responsible for minor wilting or discolouration of sensitive plants caused by necessary biodegradable chemical runoff.
"Bio-Clean" Process: For soft washing services (such as roof or render cleaning), the Client acknowledges that the full cleaning effect may not be visible immediately. The applied treatment continues to kill organic growth over time, and the appearance may improve further in the weeks following the service.
Health and Safety
All work is carried out in compliance with current UK Health and Safety regulations.
Clients and occupants are asked to maintain a safe distance from the work area for the duration of the cleaning process.
Any special safety considerations regarding cleaning products will be outlined prior to the job commencing. The Client may request further information regarding mechanical processes and chemicals (COSHH data) at any time.
Data Protection (GDPR)
The Company collects and stores client data (name, address, contact details) solely for the purpose of providing the service, processing payments, and internal record keeping.
We handle all personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. We do not sell or share client data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Insurance
The Company carries public liability and treatment risk insurance with Covea, and the Client may request proof of this policy at any time.
Complaints and Dispute Resolution
The Company aims to provide a high standard of service. To allow for prompt rectification, we request that any concerns or complaints be raised within seven (7) days of the completion of work.
